Thorndale Lions Induct Seven New Lions!

Thorndale President Lion Les Youngson and District Governor Don are shown with new Lions Paul Weir, Hans Frick, Jason Pike, Scott Cochrane, Jeffrey Arts, Craig Walsh and Mel Lee. These new Lions were inducted in January 2009. It all started with a barbeque to which young men of the local community were invited. Thanks Thorndale, for making membership a priority and setting a record for inductees at one ceremony. (DG Don, January 2009)

Hyde Park Lions Serve at Christmas

Hyde Park and District Lions held their annual Christmas get together and dinner on the 15th of December. Rather than exchange gifts among members and guests each Lion brought items to be donated to Mission Services and Youth Opportunities Unlimited. As can be seen by the photo the HPL were very generous and the two organizations were thrilled with the donated items.

Lambeth Melvin Jones

Lambeth Lions Club recently honoured two long serving Lions. In the picture below are Lions Cliff Faulkner (right) and Adriaan Van Dongen (left) receiving their “Melvin Jones Fellow Awards”. These are the highest awards most Lions can achieve. Both Lions are charter members and have served tirelessly since our club formed in 1977. Their continuing efforts help the club live up to our motto “We Serve”. Lion Cliff has been club president several times and also has held almost every position in Lions up to and including Deputy District Governor. Lion Adriaan has also been president more than once and has held most positions including District Governor.
